Footnotes

NIER calculates the current account balance based on statistics from the national accounts (NR). The current account balance is also included in the balance of payments (BoP) published by Statistics Sweden. BoP is based on statistics from the Swedish Riksbank. The current account balance in NR and BoP differs due to different calculation methods, mainly concerning foreign trade in goods and services. Three reasons for this are: 1. The national accounts specify foreign trade valued at invoice value, while BoP indicates it in statistical value; 2. The national accounts has other sources concerning certain parts of foreign trade, including FISIM and tripartite trade and 3. The national accounts sometimes has a residual from the calculation from the asset and usage side, which could lead to adjustments of foreign trade.
